Tesco expects sales on Black Friday to exceed Boxing Day’s for the first time and aims to draw in shoppers with discounts of up to 70%.
Tesco will cut prices of products ranging from toys to DIY and electrical goods and promises more than £15m of price cuts over three days online and in all its Extra hypermarkets and superstores.
The retailer anticipates click-and-collect shopping to be particularly popular during the promotion.
Tesco general merchandise director Rob Hattrell said: “Black Friday now marks the real start of Christmas shopping and Tesco is recognising this with its Black Friday sale in-store and online.
“With our recent extension of our free click-and-collect service for non-food items to all 2,600 Tesco stores, customers can shop whenever they want, however they want.
“We expect that over two thirds of those snapping up a Black Friday bargain online will choose a click-and-collect option for delivery.”
