Tesco has partnered with Uber as part of a raft of changes to its Clubcard loyalty scheme.
Britain’s biggest grocer has added the US tech giant to its list of Clubcard partners with whom Tesco customers can use their accumulated vouchers.
Tesco has also added Hotels.com to the list of 400 third-party partners, which already includes pubs, restaurants, airlines and cruise holidays.
Clubcard holders can exchange their vouchers with the partners to receive up to four times their original value.
Tesco is also making it “simpler and easier” for customers to use their Clubcards by launching a new contactless card, which customers can simply tap at the checkout to add their points.
App changes
The grocer has made further changes to the smartphone Clubcard app, introducing the option for new customers to sign up to the scheme instantly.
Existing Clubcard holders will also be able to access their vouchers instantly at the checkout for the first time.
Tesco chief customer officer Alessandra Bellini said: “Tesco Clubcard is one of the most uniquely helpful things we do and it’s our way of saying thank you to our customers for shopping with us.
“Clubcard is the most rewarding loyalty scheme in the sector and we’re looking forward to seeing how customers respond to the improvements.”
