Tesco has rolled out an in-store MoneyGram service to all superstores and Extras across London as it seeks to widen its offer for customers.
The money transfer service is traditionally offered by newsagents, post offices and travel agents. Shoppers who use the service will often receive money-off shop vouchers.
Tesco believes the service will appeal to London’s diverse population.
The service is also in four Metro stores in Edmonton, Kings Cross, Portobello Road and Paddington.
Andrew Yaxley, Tesco London managing director said: “It is important for us to not only offer great products for our customers but also great services as well. We offered MoneyGram in a handful of our London stores which proved to be very popular with customers because they said it was easy to use and accessible. Because of this success, we have rolled it out to dozens more stores to make this international money transfer service even more easily available and convenient.”
