Tesco is piloting a change to its Clubcard Prices loyalty scheme to offer customers bespoke discounts based on their shopping behaviour.
A ’Your Clubcard Prices’ option is being offered selected shoppers, The Sun reported.
Customers chosen to participate will receive new offers every Wednesday on Tesco’s app.
Relevant offers are valid for seven days, and customers can buy any of their discounted products more tha once times over that time. However the deals are only available in bigger Tesco shops - they do not apply in Tesco Express convenience stores, onine or usging the via Whoosh rapid delivery service.
A Tesco spokesperson told the newspaper: “We are currently offering Your Clubcard Prices to a trial group of our Clubcard members, giving them offers on products they regularly buy at Tesco, in addition to the thousands of Clubcard Prices available to all Clubcard members each week.”
Loyalty and the associated data that retailers can collect through their schemes have become a key battleground among grocers as they battle for share of spend in highly competitive conditions and as value players Aldi and Lidl have grown.
Tesco has traditionally been the leader on such schemes after the pioneering launch of Clubcard three decades ago, and the introduction of Clubcard Prices six years ago.
