The Co-operative Group is offering shoppers a £200m Christmas promotional package.
The grocer said shoppers will be offered best value deals, backed by its own-brand products.
Since the acquisition of the Somerfield, The Co-op has revamped its own-brand range, including its Simply Value range and its top end Truly Irresistible range.
New additions to the range for Christmas include Truly Irresistible Brandy Butter Ice Cream and Truly Irresistible Irish Cream Melt in Middle Pudding.
Tim Hurrell,managing director, The Co-operative Food, said: “With financial pressures hitting household budgets this Christmas, customers are looking for even greater value quality food. With 3,000 stores Co-operative stores nationwide, we are best placed to deliver that.”
Offers include half price deals on Champagne, smoked salmon and king prawns, and better-then-half-price deals on Fox biscuits at £4.50 down from £10, and three packs of Co-op frozen party food for £5.
The Co-op will also distribute £50m of coupons, offering shoppers discounts on their shopping bill the next time around.
