The Co-operative Group has appointed former easyJet marketing director David Magliano as brand director.
The grocer has appointed to Magliano to develop its brand and communication across the group.
Magliano, who handled the marketing for the successful London 2012 Olympic bid, will report to group marketing director Gill Barr
With an early background in advertising, Magliano has worked as director of sales and marketing for two airlines, easyJet and Go and was also director of commercial and marketing for England’s failed 2018 World Cup Bid.
Barr said: “David is a high calibre, proven marketeer and his appointment underlines the importance we are attaching to the further development of our brand within the UK.”
Magliano said: “I’ve been presented with a fantastic opportunity to shape and communicate the Co-operative brand across a range of businesses to a multitude of audiences, each with their own needs and expectations.”
