HR director to replace him
Halfords finance director Nick Carter has resigned, having worked for the company since 2003.
Halfords business development and HR director Nick Wharton will take over as finance director on February 3. Before he joined Halfords in 2002, Wharton held senior finance positions with Boots Opticians, Boots Healthcare International, Do-it-All and Cadbury Schweppes.
Halfords trading director Paul McClenaghan has also been appointed to the group's board, with effect from March 31.
The retailer said that trading - since its interim results on November 23 - has remained in line with market expectations.
