The retailer has secured a space in the scheme’s redeveloped Rotunda area, which was previously only used for pedestrian access to the centre.
ING Britannica, which acquired Spindles in 2004, has redeveloped the area to accommodate the 18,000 sq ft (1,670 sq m) H&M store, which will be the only retailer in the new space.
The centre spans 458,000 sq ft (42,548 sq m) and is anchored by Debenhams, with River Island, Next, New Look and Boots also on site.
ING Britannica head of asset management Steve Gay said: “The H&M store will provide an added attraction for Oldham’s shopping population and help us attract other fashion retailers.”
The new retail space and H&M store opened yesterday, after redevelopment work began in May last year.
H&M was represented by Smith Price. Joint agents for ING Britannica were Lunson Mitchenall and Tushingham Moore.
