Health and beauty retailer Boots UK has acquired a 49% stake in its hearing care provider David Ormerod Hearing Centres (DOHC).
Boots, which is owned by pharmaceutical giant Alliance Boots, said the deal demonstrated Boots’ commitment to further develop hearing care services.
The acquisition represents an extension to Boots’ existing partnership with Sonova Holding, which owns DOHC and operates Boots’ hearing care practices across the UK.
Alliance Boots health and beauty chief executive Alex Gourlay said: “This agreement further builds on our investment in the UK, as well as our commitment to help improve health in the local communities we serve.
“Partnering with Sonova ensures that our customers can readily access world leading hearingcare technology and services as part of our integrated healthcare offer in the UK.”
Sonova chief executive Lukas Braunschweiler said: “Sonova is pleased to further strengthen and secure the long term relationship with Boots UK. Together, we will continue to provide high-quality professional audiological services to our customers in the UK and pursue the long term growth of the business.”
