Superdrug has partnered with on-demand delivery network Gophr to deliver prescriptions direct to UK homes.
Consumers can digitally track and trace store-to-door deliveries using Gophr’s doorstep experience which replicates in-store pharmacy security protocols.
Gophr said its delivery service ensures layers of protection to uphold standards and make sure that prescription medicines are given directly to the people they are intended for.
Ghada Beal, healthcare director at Superdrug, said: “Patients want a fast, easy and convenient way to manage and order their medication and have it delivered to them safely and efficiently. Gophr’s extensive network of professional couriers and real-time tracking information enables us to support patients within local communities, delivering a best-in-class service to them.”
Gophr strategic account director Graham Smith said: “Pharmaceutical delivery is becoming increasingly important, especially as pharmacists are now able to supply even more services under Pharmacy First.
“Vulnerable patients often cannot visit the pharmacy in person to pick up essential medication, while those who are perhaps time-poor, cannot regularly visit the high street. Gophr is perfectly placed to offer Superdrug patients an unrivalled delivery service.
“We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional doorstep experience and highly flexible delivery, which builds those vital relationships with our clients’ patients. This is so important when it comes to medical drop-offs where people are reliant on their local pharmacy. It is even more vital when offering cover service, ensuring that customers always get the best service possible.
“Our online tracking and transparent system, along with robust standard operating procedures (SOPs), will ensure compliance levels are high at all times – this is key for a successful pharmacy partnership.”
