Cosmetics giant Natura & Co has announced David Boynton will be stepping down from his role as chief executive of The Body Shop at the end of this month.
Boynton led the brand and business transformation after Natura acquired The Body Shop from L’Oréal and has served as the chief executive since 2017.
He joined The Body Shop from menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt, where he was chief executive, and previously spent nearly a decade at rival L’Occitane, where he ran the brand’s US business for nearly five years.
Ian Martin Bickley will join the group as the interim chief executive of The Body Shop to ensure a smooth transition.
The health and beauty retailer said Bickley will work closely with The Body Shop’s executive leadership team “to refine the current business plan and transformation agenda, as well as to accelerate the road to profitability and cash conversion recovery together with the return to sustainable revenue”.
Bickley has previously served on Natura & Co’s board committee dedicated to The Body Shop, as well as acting as an adviser.
Bickley has an extensive background in managing and growing international franchise opportunities and has previously led the international growth of Coach and Crocs.
