The Fragrance Shop has reported a “record-breaking year” as like-for-like sales increased 6.1% in the full year ending April 1.

The Fragrance Shop posted a 6.1% increase in like-for-like sales with an overall continuing business growth of 9.4% in the 12 months to April 1, 2024.

The retailer said it was a “record-breaking year” for the business – it opened its flagship store on Oxford Street in November; launched Every Human, the UK’s first AI scent creation machine; and expanded its retail portfolio with 13 new stores.

During the same period, the retailer’s sales of Barbour, Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier grew by 55%, 48% and 40%, respectively.

The Fragrance Shop currently operates 223 stores across the UK, with plans to surpass 300 locations in the next three fiscal years, as well as a roll-out to international markets.

Chief executive Sanjay Vadera said: “I’m very proud of the year we’ve had at TFS. Launching an experiential flagship store on Oxford Street that immerses our customers in a world of luxury and niche fragrances, as well as the UK’s first-ever AI scent creation machine, Every Human, has been a great success.

“We’ve also seen incredible growth within our membership program, MyTFS, which is now a thriving community of over one million members, and have continued to expand our retail footprint across the UK with 13 new stores.

“This year, we will be celebrating a huge milestone – 30 years in business! We have plans to expand our store portfolio even further across the UK, as well as delivering continued growth of our MyTFS and scent addict programmes.

“We are already a CPD-accredited business for all of our education programmes and are now focusing on achieving ISO9001, which is the standard for quality management systems.

“This supports our ambition to grow into international markets. It’s a very exciting year ahead for us.”
