The Fragrance Shop has posted a record-breaking Christmas as sales surged in the 13 weeks to December 31, 2023.
The UK’s largest independent fragrance retailer said sales surged 6.5%, driven by the success of popular new fragrance launches combined with “key range extensions, a compelling gift set collection, and a strong showing of seasonal favourites”.
The retailer said its subscription programme, MyTFS, “experienced a remarkable increase in memberships sold, underscoring its position as the smartest way to shop, with close to 1 million members at the end of December”.
In November, The Fragrance Shop opened an experiential flagship on Oxford Street, London, bringing its total store estate to 221 in the UK.
Chief executive Sanjay Vadera said: “Despite the cost-of-living crisis and pressure on disposable incomes, our teams have delivered another exceptional peak trading period. Our MyTFS subscription loyalty scheme continues to thrive and we remain committed to innovation and enhancing the consumer experience.
“We will persist in our investments to expand both digitally and physically, ensuring our customers enjoy the premium shopping environment they demand.”
