The Perfume Shop has rolled out its biggest perfume bottle recycling scheme across all 211 UK stores.
The scheme is an extension of the retailer’s first bottle recycling and reuse initiative launched in 2018.
Customers can drop off empty fragrance bottles in the newly installed recycling units and receive an increased discount of 15% on any fragrance of their choice.
As part of the programme, the retailer will also donate to the Eden Reforestation Projects to plant a tree for every bottle recycled.
The Perfume Shop said it had recycled more than 7,282 empty perfume bottles and planted over 399,926 trees since it began the partnership with the Eden Reforestation Projects in 2021.
The Perfume Shop managing director Gill Smith said: “When we launched the bottle recycling initiative it was the first of its kind for perfume bottles, which we hadn’t seen before.
“We knew we wanted our loyal customers to both smell good but also feel good when they were aware of what they could do with their empty fragrance bottles.
“At The Perfume Shop, we’re proud of the excellent work we’ve already achieved as a business with our partnerships and how we can look to combat wastage as much as we can, and that’s why we’re continuing to build upon this year on year to make our cause even greater than before.”
