Hobbs has appointed Sandy Verdon creative director at the womenswear retailer.
The former Jaeger creative director replaces Karl Henry, who will retire early next year after 18 years at the retailer. Verdon will be responsible for the design and creative vision of Hobbs and her first collection will be for spring/summer 2009.
Verdon spent eight years at Jaeger and previously worked at Courtaulds, French Connection and Next.
Chief executive Nick Samuel said: “Naturally, we are sorry Karl is leaving us as he has made such an important contribution to the success of the company. We are very pleased that Sandy is joining us and believe she will be an excellent successor to Karl. She provides a wealth of experience and her knowledge and energy will contribute to Hobbs’ development as an international fashion brand.”
