Fashion retailers Hollister and Cult are the first retailers to sign for Westfield’s new Broadmarsh shopping development in Nottingham.
Both retailers will be new to Nottingham and form part of the first phase of the redevelopment. The Cult shop, at 19,138 sq ft, will be its largest store in the UK, and it will also sell some of sister brand Superdry’s products.
Both will be housed in the soon-to-be reconfigured Drury Walk area of the scheme.
Peter Miller, chief operating officer at Westfield said: “Following the challenging economic conditions from 2008 through to 2010, we are now seeing renewed confidence from retailers.”
He added: “This in turn provides confidence for the wider redevelopment and extension of the Broadmarsh which will unlock the regeneration of the southside of Nottingham, creating jobs and further investment in the city.”
An Abercrombie & Fitch spokesperson said that in response to the demand of their fans worldwide, the group “are accelerating the pace of international Hollister store openings to approximately 30 to 40 stores this year”.
Nigel Jobson, head of property at Supergroup, which owns Cult and Superdry, said that the Nottingham store will be “an excellent addition” to its portfolio.
