Bunnings UK & Ireland has appointed Glenn Avery as interim general manager of merchandise, Retail Week can reveal.
Avery, who joined the Australian DIY retailer in 2008 upon completing university, has succeeded Craig Castelino.
The former merchandise boss exited earlier this year to take on a senior leadership role at Bunnings Australia and New Zealand.
It is not yet clear how long Avery has been seconded for.
The appointment comes as new managing director Damian McGloughlin – the former B&Q retail director who has replaced PJ Davis – commences a reshuffle of the Bunnings leadership team amid mounting losses.
Last month, the fledgling UK DIY venture reported interim losses of £97m. Its owners have also been hit with a £454m impairment charge relating to its acquisition of Homebase in 2015.
Wesfarmers is carrying out a strategic review of its UK operation, the outcome of which is expected to be announced on June 7.
