DFS has been given the go-ahead by the competition watchdog to complete its £25m acquisition of rival retailer Sofology.
The furniture business, which agreed a deal to snap up its competitor back in August, said the purchase would officially complete on November 30.
Following the green light from the Competition and Markets Authority, DFS will add Sofology’s 37 stores and its ecommerce business to its stable.
DFS boss Ian Filby hailed the deal as “a big step” in its strategic plan to broaden the appeal of both its brand and product ranges.
Filby added: “Sofology is a fantastic business that takes great pride in the levels of service and innovation it provides to customers and is a great addition to our family.
“This is an important and historic moment for both businesses; our investment demonstrates the confidence we have in Sofology and the wider group.”
