Dreams turnaround mastermind Mike Logue stands down

Dreams chief executive Mike Logue, who won admiration for leading the turnaround of the specialist beds retailer, is to stand down.

Logue, who has run Dreams since 2013, will be succeeded as chief executive by Jonathan Hirst who has been promoted from chief operating officer.

He steps aside following the £340m sale of Dreams in May to New York-listed beddings product giant Tempur Sealy.

Logue will stay with Dreams until the end of this year to facilitate a smooth handover to Hirst, who has been at the retailer since 2014 and has more than two decades of retail experience including at electricals giant Currys.

Logue said: ”I’m incredibly proud of what our 2,000 colleagues have achieved together. I have no doubt that under Jonathan’s leadership and Tempur Sealy’s ownership the business will continue to go from strength to strength.

”After eight years with Dreams working with the team to deliver a transformation of the business, I have decided it’s the right time for me to step aside and spend some quality time with my family.”

Hirst said: ”Mike has played a crucial role in shaping Dreams into the business it is today. Now part of the Tempur Sealy family, the largest bedding business in the world, Dreams is in an exciting new phase.

”With this dedicated and talented team, footprint and infrastructure, we are well-positioned for further growth and look to the future with confidence.”
