Furniture and homewares etailer Achica has appointed chief operating officer Steve Robinson to the role of chief executive.
Robinson replaces William Cooper who takes up the role of chairman. Cooper, who has been chief executive since he co-founded Achica in 2009, will work closely with Robinson to develop corporate strategy.
Robinson, who joined Achica in July 2013 as chief operating officer, will be responsible for improving the website, driving the international strategy and boosting its product offer.
Before joining Achica, Robinson was chief executive of consultancy Omnicommerce. He has also worked as customer director at B&Q, chief executive of Tesco Direct, chief executive of online fashion retailer M and M Direct and finance director of Argos.
Robinson said: “Having been trading for four years Achica is still a relatively new business and it is growing rapidly in size, product offer and operations.
“The company has achieved some notable landmarks in the past few months including membership reaching 3 million, the launch of the first flashsales UK antiques department, a new ad campaign based on the theme of ‘Discovery’ and acceptance into the government #FutureFifty scheme for high-growth businesses. The coming years will be critical in growing Achica as the business looks to expand domestically and internationally.”
Cooper said: “Steve has already played an instrumental role as COO and I am delighted that he has taken on the CEO role. I am confident that with his significant and relevant retail experience he will continue to build on the early success of Achica and enable us to achieve our ambitious goals.”
Achica sells discounted luxury homewares products.
