Ikea is hosting a second-hand Sale in two of its store car parks this weekend to allow customers to buy and sell pre-loved home furnishings.
Stores in Milton Keynes and Cardiff will open their car parks to members of the public. If the events are successful, the retailer will aim to host similar Sales across the country next year.
The events, which are already fully booked, are free to attend and sell at, and will take place between 9am and 12pm on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 September.
Stall owners confirmed by the retailer will be given free refreshments and coupons will be available for hot food.
David Manser, store manager at Ikea’s Milton Keynes branch, said: “We’re excited to be hosting the first event of its kind for Ikea and are proud to be getting the local community together to sell, buy, explore and keep good things going.”
“We want to make the passing on of pre-loved items as easy and enjoyable as possible, and providing the opportunity for people to resell the items they no longer need brings benefits to the community, the environment and wallets.
“If you have recently had a clearout, are looking to refresh your home or are simply looking for something fun to do, why not come along this weekend and play your part in the sustainable loop?”
