Made.com, the online furniture retailer, is poised to ramp up its physical presence with the opening of a showroom in Liverpool.
The 4,000 sq ft showroom will open in mid-September at Liverpool’s Metquarter shopping centre and sit alongside retailers including Kurt Geiger, Jo Malone and All Saints.
Visitors to the Liverpool showroom - the online retailer’s third after London and Leeds - will be able to access product information using in-store tablets.
Made.com, which received £38m in funding last month and appointed SuperGroup’s Susanne Given to its board, said it planned to open the new space to meet demand from its growing customer base in the Northwest. It said its website attracts aproximately 700,000 visitors from Liverpool and the surrounding area every year.
Annabel Kilner, head of UK at Made.com, said: “As an online-only company, where we can bring our brand to life and enable customers to see the quality of our product, with limited additional costs, we will. The new site allows us to do this – it’s a cost-effective partnership with the centre, meaning there are no big high street costs but we’re alongside great brands such as Hugo Boss and Jo Malone.”
