House of Fraser cuts brands amid transformation
House of Fraser is set to cut the number of brands in its outlets, The Times reported.
The company is also planning to launch a new mobile-led website in the UK following its trial in Australia.
It is focusing on womenswear and homewear and holding fewer promotions to move away from discounting and reduce stock levels
Edinburgh Woollen Mill set to buy Jaeger
Edinburgh Woollen Mill’s owner Philip Day is set to acquire Jaeger, The Belfast Telegraph reported.
Other bidders include Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley and Jaeger's former owner Harold Tillman.
One of the sources said: "Edinburgh Woollen Mill has a history of buying troubled retailers and turning them around, and it's one of the more credible bidders for Jaeger."
All parties declined to comment.
