Aldi takes first place in UK’s top brands list
German discounter Aldi has knocked the BBC off the top place of YouGov’s BrandIndex 2014 mid-year Buzz rankings, The Drum reported. Lidl took fourth place. Waitrose moved up to fifth place from ninth last year, while Sainsbury’s remained in 10th position.
Sports Direct holds ‘encouraging’ talks with Adidas after supply row
Sports Direct reported that tensions with German sporting goods maker Adidas were easing after the ‘encouraging’ talks over a dispute about the availability of replica football jerseys, Bloomberg reported. Discussions have taken place between ‘very, very high’ up executives at both companies, Sports Direct chief executive Dave Forsey said.
Phones 4U unveils new ad campaign
Phones 4U has launched an ad cmpaign entitled ‘For the future you’, The Drum reported. Developed by adam+eveDDB, the campaign has been designed to highlight the knowledge that Phones 4u can provide to customers in-store, and how that helps people to choose a phone that will suit their present and future lives. The campaign has launched with a series of five, two-second teasers.
