Amazon mulls neighbourhood delivery programme
Etailer Amazon.com is reportedly developing a mobile app called On My Way that would pay participating members of the public to deliver goods, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The latest move comes as the online giant seeks to cut costs of one of the most expensive parts of its business model - doorstep delivery.
Australian grocer Woolworths’ boss to stand down
Woolworths’ chief executive Grant O’Brien is to depart after almost four years at the Australian supermarket chain. His decision to quit comes amid plans to slash about 1,200 jobs in a “strategic change” move.
The retailer said it would begin the hunt for a new chief. The company’s head of retail services Penny Winn will also leave.
