Retail round-up on April 14, 2016: Ann Summers Ireland returns to full-year profit, and Tesco set to hand every staff member a bonus.

Ann Summers' Irish arm moves to full-year profit 

Ann Summers Ireland swung to a pre-tax profit of €149,269 (£118,908) last year from a €29,755 (£23,703) loss in 2014.

Revenues at the main Irish subsidiary of the sex toy and lingerie specialist remained flat at €2.4m (£1.9m) for the 12 months to the end of June 2015.

Net assets at the end of June totalled €3.6m (£2.9m).

Meanwhile, TV presenter and model Vicky Pattison has been chosen as the new face of the retailer.

Tesco to give bonus to every staff member

Tesco is set to hand every employee a windfall in May after returning to full-year profits.

The grocer said it will reward its 300,000 staff – from shop workers to management – with a one-off ‘turnaround bonus’ of around 5% of salary.

A part-time shop worker earning £6,000 will get around £300, while a full-time member on £19,000 will receive £950.
