Poundland completes £50m share placing
Poundland successfully raised £50m in a share placing yesterday. The single-price specialist, which conducted the fundraising to cover the acquisition of rival 99p stores, placed 17.9m shares with institutional investors. JP Morgan was the bookrunner and Shore Capital was co-lead manager.
Starbucks to pay all staff living wage
Coffee chain Starbucks is to pay all of its staff the living wage, including those aged under 25. Starbucks also unveiled a scheme called Home Sweet Loan, offering employees interest-free loans to pay rental deposits.
Woman in Primark breastfeeding row admits lying
A woman who accused a Primark security guard of taking her baby from her as she breastfed in a store has admitted lying.
Caroline Starmer pleaded guilty to a charge of intent to pervert the course of justice at Leicester Crown Court.
