Shop prices in UK 1.7% lower in early March

According to British Retail Consortium’s industry figures, retailers in the UK cut prices in March at the fastest rate since 2006, Reuters reported. Shop prices in early March fell 1.7% than at the same time in 2013. That was the 11th straight month of decreasing prices. Prices for non-food items were 3.2% lower in March than a year ago, while food inflation slowed to 0.8%.

UK’s shop vacancy rate sees slight fall in March

According to Local Data Company, shop vacancy rate in the UK was slightly down at 13.6% year-on-year in March. The figure stood at 14.1% for March last year. The vacancy rates figure was also flat for the second straight month.
