Homewares retailer Textiles Direct is understood to have filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator, putting 400 jobs at risk.

The 60 store retailer, which is based in the north west, is understood to have filed the notice at Manchester High Court on Wednesday.

It is thought the retailer will hire an administrator next week.

Calls to Textiles Direct were not returned.
