Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has launched its 90-day Love It or Exchange It mattress policy today and exclusively revealed the bedroom antics of the UK population in a UK-wide survey.
Of those polled, almost one in three of the UK adult population admitted to having no sex over an average 90-day period and one in five has slept alone throughout that entire period.
The results reveal that single life is not all it’s cracked up to be, with married and unmarried couples having twice as much sex as singletons.
The survey, conducted by Onepoll, polled more than 1,000 adults. It found that 20 per cent of Brits have sex between one and five times in a 90-day period, 13 per cent have shared their bed with three or more people in an average 90-day period and 50 per cent of singletons have shared their bed with up to five people in that period.
Ikea’s Love It or Exchange It policy allows customers to test a mattress for 90 days, recognising the importance of choosing the right mattress to get a good night’s sleep.
The 90-day policy is available on its Sultan range. To test each mattress, Ikea uses a “real man”, weighing 140 kilograms in the form of a wooden cylinder that rolls around 30,000 times in a durability test. The launch coincides with a new TV campaign.
