Inditex looks to Switzerland for expansion plan

Fashion group Inditex is to ramp up expansion in Switzerland following better-than-expected sales in the country.

Inditex opened stores in Switzerland under the Zara, Massimo Dutti and Bershka fascias last year, and last week it announced it will open two more Zara shops this year in the country.

The new stores will open in Basel and Zurich. Local press reports have referred to Zaramania. Sales in the fourth quarter of last year are understood to have been 35 per cent ahead of expectations.

Inditex opened nearly 200 stores worldwide last year.
