Casino is facing a review by the French Competition Authority (FCA) over its takeover of Monoprix from former joint-venture partner Galeries Lafayette.

The grocery group notified the authority of the final takeover of Monoprix on February 6. However, the FCA has now stated that “such an operation raises serious doubts over fair competition, and will require further investigation”.
