Convenience store operator Couche-Tard has reached an agreement in principle with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in connection with its tender offer for Iowa-based Casey’s General Stores in the US. The agreement would permit Couche-Tard to acquire Casey’s, subject to the divestiture of certain convenience stores and service stations at 25 locations within a specified period. “The agreement with the FTC is another step towards making the combination of Couche-Tard and Casey’s a reality,” said Couche-Tard president and chief executive Alain Bouchard.
