Fast Retailing Q1 operating profit drops 18.4%

Fashion multiple Fast Retailing has announced that first-quarter operating profit dropped 18.4% after a boom in 2009.

The retailer said sales at the Uniqlo chain faltered at the end of last year because an improved economy had since prompted shoppers to return to more expensive department stores and pricier shops.
