US retailer Gap plans to open two stores each in Beijing and Shanghai later this year and will offer online shopping in China.
The fashion retailer said the store openings are part of a long-term expansion strategy that involves more stores in major regions, including Hong Kong. The China stores will be company-owned and operated.
In China, the company has named Redmond Yeung - recently president and chief operating officer for Best Buy in China - as its president there.
