Casino’s Brazilian operation Grupo Pão de Açúcar posted sales growth of 8.7%, or 7.1% in like-for-like terms, to BRL13.7bn (£4.17bn) for the third quarter of 2012.
According to the retailer, it was mainly because of the strong performance of the Assai, Minimercado Extra and Ponto Frio banners.
