Grocers Migros and Coop plan to adapt their PoS terminals to accept near field communication payments by mid-2013, Neue Zürcher Zeitung has reported.

The technology also allows contactless payment using near field communication-enabled mobile phones. The initiative is expected to increase acceptance of the technology in the country.
