Swiss retailer Migros is testing a convenience store concept called Migros-Express. The stores are located near railway stations and will be open all week, including Sundays.
The product range is targeted at the commuter market. After the first openings in Rapperswil and Luzern, Migros opened a third store in Zürich-Altstetten with a revised concept.
Swiss trade union Unia has expressed opposition to Sunday working. Further roll-outs depend on the success of the test stores, as well as the amount of resistance from the union.
