Online grocer Peapod has launched a click-and-collect service in partnership with Ahold’s Stop & Shop chain.
Shoppers can order groceries online through Peapod and then go to stores for collection. They must live within 10 miles of the store to use the service and payment is made online. Customers can shop from a list of items previously purchased at their local store by entering their loyalty card number online.
In the US, Ahold already offers a click-and-collect service at three stores, but this is the first time orders can be placed through Peapod. Ordered items are picked up from a Peapod stockroom and delivered to a storage locker at the side of the store.
