South African retailer Massmart is making “good progress” on identifying locations for potential expansion in Nigeria, according to its chief executive Grant Pattison.
Pattison added that the company is also looking at potential market entries into the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Senegal.
Earlier this week South Africa approved US giant Walmart’s bid to buy Massmart for $2.4bn (£1.46bn), although some conditions were imposed on the purchase.
