Reliance Retail confirmed that it plans to triple its store count as part of an expansion drive, aiming to reach 3,000 to 4,000 stores within three to four years.
“This will be part of $6bn (£3.78bn) investment that we had announced in 2006,” said Bijou Kurien, president and chief executive of Reliance Retail’s Lifestyle division.
“We have learnt our lessons in the past three years and figured out what works and what does not work for our formats,” he added.
