Ireland's biggest factory outlet development has been given the green light by planners.
ING Real Estate and Coverfield Developments have been granted detailed planning consent for the 166,705 sq ft (15,485 sq m) Ballymac Shopping Outlet at Dundalk, Republic of Ireland, located mid-way between Dublin and Belfast.
Dundalk Town Council has approved the plan for 80 retail units, cafes, creche facilities and 1,240 parking spaces.
Construction will begin on the EUR60 million (£40 million) project as soon as possible in time for opening in spring 2006.
ING Real Estate managing director Siep Hoeksma said: 'We are talking in detail to a number of major retail operators and top brands, some of which will be new to Ireland.'
Pantheon Retail is the asset manager. Allen Hodkinson is the letting agent.
