Jacques Vert has issued a profit warning, becoming the latest fashion retailer to be hit by increasingly tough trading conditions.
Jacques Vert, which also operates Planet and Windsmoor, said it would miss market expectations by up to£1 million when its preliminary results are announced in July. It said that full-year like-for-like sales had dipped 0.5 per cent on the previous year.
It added that it would end the year in a good cash position,£2 million in the black compared with a net debt of£900,000 in April 2007. Stock levels are also expected to be lower than at the end of its last financial year.
