Jessops moves warehouse staff

Jessops is offering 155 staff alternative employment following a decision to relocate its three Leicester distribution centres to Northamptonshire.

Staff have been offered jobs at the new Weedon warehouse 35 miles away, with the understanding that travelling time aboard a free bus service will be included in contract hours.

Jessops said in a statement it hoped no redundancies would arise from the move. Work will also be offered within Jessops and at new distribution partner Unipart's centres in Nottingham, Baginton and Coventry.

Jessops previously indicated the new centre would be in Leicester, but has told staff no suitable facility could be found within the area.
