JD accepts the resignation of John Wardle and David Makin as Pentland deal nears conclusion
John David Group announced this morning that it had accepted the resignation of company founders John Wardle and David Makin as non-executive directors. The move follows the news earlier this week that Pentland Group had made its offer for JD unconditional.
Pentland Group has agreed to acquire more than 56 per cent of voting shares in JD through its subsidiary Manchester Square Enterprises. This includes the purchase of the shareholding of Makin and Wardle - together they held 45 per cent of the company.
Pentland is a brand management company for well-known high street brands including Berghaus, Brasher, Ellesse, Lacoste, Red or Dead, Speedo and Ted Baker.
