Willis and Gambier, one of John Lewis's furniture suppliers, has gone into administration.
Willis and Gambier hit the buffers yesterday, although the company said it is continuing to trade as normal.
David Chubb, Stephen Oldfield and Graham Frost of PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as administrators of Willis Gambier Holdings and its subsidiaries.
A John Lewis spokesperson said: "We are aware of the situation and we are working to ensure it does not impact our customers."
Willis and Gambier is an importer supplier of premium furniture to major retailers. The core focus of the business is in high-end bedroom and dining collections.
The company said it has 14 per cent market share of the bunk bed market.
In 2007, the company went through a management buyout and one of its founders, Barney Willis, retired.
