As predicted in Retail Week (July 18), the 40-store-chain, which also operates 40 concessions in Ireland, has become the latest victim of the credit crunch.
James Bradney and Andrew Duncan of Bridge Business Recovery have been appointed as administrators. A Bridge Business Recovery spokesman said there had been redundancies but refused to comment on the number. Jumper is still trading.
Jumper is owned by Brian Heilbron, former Beatties chief executive and ex-managing director of Talbots UK. It was sold to Heilbron in August last year by Waterlinks Investments, a subsidiary of Harris Watson, one-time owner of Viyella and the Sock Shop.
