Sports retailer Kitbag had a record Christmas with December’s sales up 19.3% to £10.5m.
At its peak over 25,000 orders were shipped a day from the Findel-owned retailer’s core online business to more than 120 countries.
Kitbag’s 5 football club stores, which it operates on behalf of Manchester City, Everton and Nottingham Forest, contributed 26% of the group’s December sales. Its recently opened CityStore in Manchester was the best performer over the period.
Kitbag managing director Ray Evans said: “Despite ongoing financial pressures for consumers, many retailers remain cautiously optimistic about the future. Christmas is one of our most important seasonal trading periods and we are delighted to have achieved a record performance in our 10 year history.”
