La Senza's administrator PwC closes six stores

The lingerie retailer fell into administration earlier this month for the second time in two years, as revealed by Retail Week. At the time there were no immediate plans to close stores.

On July 1 administrators were appointed to Marnixheath Limited, which also operated three Pinkberry food stores.

PwC has also shuttered two Pinkberry shops.

PwC joint administrator Robert Moran said: “Regrettably, despite management’s best efforts, it has proven unprofitable to continue to trade these stores, which has resulted in the loss of 75 jobs. The company and the administrators are making every effort to support staff at this difficult time.“

PwC blamed La Senza’s collapse on “very difficult trading conditions”.

It came just two years after the UK division of Middle Eastern trading house Alshaya bought La Senza out of administration in a pre-pack deal in 2012. US firm Limited Brands, which owns Victoria’s Secret, also owns the La Senza brand.
