Furniture retailer Land of Leather has doubled pre-tax profits to£5.7 million.
The figure for the year to April 3 was up from£2.8 million last year.
The company, which claims to be the number one leather sofa retailer in the UK, generated sales of£101.6 million this year, a 28 per cent increase from£79.2 in the year to April 2003.
Land of Leather opened 15 stores during the year. The programme of store openings is set to continue this year, with the intention of 'targeting areas of the country where they do not currently have a presence'.
At the moment, there are 53 Land of Leather stores across the UK.
